TWE has quickly become one of the busiest and most premier warbird restoration facilities in the country. Their client list includes museums, skydivers, airshow performers and cargo transport as well as many private warbird owners and collectors. As of 2010 Jamie and his staff have refinished over 800 aircraft. Techniques and craftsmanship were learned from the old school artisans. Several restorations were awarded trophies for excellence, and have graced the covers of many aviation magazines. Jamie's credentials include A&P, IA, ME & specific aircraft type ratings, he started in New England more than 32 years ago restoring and refinishing all types of aircraft. He now owns and operates TWE with his wife Janet (whom he calls the "brains" of the operation). Seven years ago, Jamie relocated to the Florida sunshine and partnered with Dexter Aviation for the unique opportunity to concentrate on maintaining the aging warbird fleet. TWE took over the complete operation in 2007. In 2008 TWE relocated to Charlotte County Airport in Punta Gorda which has really allowed them to 'spread their wings.'

Jamie Trudeau of Trudeau Warbird Enterprises, is proud to announce that a recently completed warbird restoration has won the "Grand Champion Warbird" Award at the April 2013 Sun 'N Fun Fly-In, Lakeland, Florida. The North American T-28C owned by Tim Brown of South Carolina, N10NA, spent four years being completely dissembled down to the last rivet and underwent extensive repairs, modifications and upgrades while maintaining its military authenticity. TWE is honored to have its work recognized in this national aviation arena.

This T-28 started life as an A model, then became a Fennec, has some mention of a Nomad in the books and is now being restored as a B model. TWE is just beginning this ground up restoration so be sure to check their website to see the progress.
Focusing on the exchange of ideas and information concerning the safe operation and restoration of warbird aircraft, this annual conference brings together warbird owners and operations from all corners of the country. Offering programs to enhance pilot skill and knowledge, expand aircraft maintenance technician and restorer knowledge, develop awareness of medical and insurance facts, and address aircraft-specific topics to ensure continued flight for these unique historic aircraft, a host of renowned industry speakers share their expertise each year. As one participant remarked,
"… we are not owners of these treasures, but rather caretakers
who ensure that future generations can better understand history."
